Demo Identity Provider (Sales Demos & Testing)

For sales demos and internal testing, NEPA can run its own miniature identity provider so you can watch the complete single-sign-on flow — sign in, first-time admin approval, ongoing sign-in — without a real hospital’s Epic or identity system. This is a development and demonstration tool only, never a production sign-in method for your hospital’s staff.

Walking through a demo

On the Demo identity provider screen, you pick a staff persona to sign in as. Three sample personas are available:

• Dr. Demo Clinician — a clinical reviewer
• Dana Dietitian — dietary and nutrition staff
• Felix Feedback — a feedback manager

Selecting a persona signs you in exactly as if that person had signed in through a real hospital identity provider: the first sign-in creates a pending request for an administrator to approve from the EHR access requests section of the User management page (see EHR Sign-In Access Requests), and once approved, signing in as that persona again goes straight into the app on the page for that persona’s role (see Role-Based Landing Page After Sign-In).

Never available in production

The demo identity provider is switched off by default and refuses to run unless a specific environment setting enables it, so it can never be reached in a live hospital’s production environment. Your staff’s real sign-in options — email invites, Epic launch, or your own identity provider — are unaffected by it.
