Passwordless Sign-In via Magic Link

You and your patients both sign in the same way: enter an email address on the Login page and follow the one-time link NEPA sends you. There is no password to create, remember, or reset.

Sign in

  1. Open the Login page and enter your email address in the Email field.
  2. Select Send sign-in link.
  3. You see the same acknowledgment every time: “If <email> is registered, check that inbox for a sign-in link. The link expires in 10 minutes.” NEPA shows this whether or not the address has an account, so the sign-in page can’t be used to guess who does.
  4. Open the email and follow the link to finish signing in — you land on the page for your role (see Role-Based Landing Page After Sign-In).

A link can only be used once, and it expires 10 minutes after it’s sent. If you follow a link that’s expired, already used, or malformed, you’re sent back to the Login page with a plain explanation of what happened, so you can request a new one.

For patients

Your patients sign in the same way, from the same Login page: they enter their email, get a one-time link, and follow it in. Clicking the link takes a patient straight to today’s check-ins and meal preferences during an active stay, rather than to a staff queue.
