Stay Context & EHR Patient Locator
Every row in the Clinical Check-Ins queue shows you where a patient is right now — not just where they were when the check-in was submitted — and gives you an audited way to look them up in your hospital’s EHR when you need identifiers.
See where a patient is now
Each row resolves the patient’s current location fresh every time you open the queue. If the patient has moved since checking in, the row calls out the change and still shows the room and bed captured at check-in time. If the patient has been discharged, the row shows the discharge date instead of a current room.
Locate a patient in the EHR
- Open a row’s Stay context section.
- Select Locate in EHR to reveal identifiers.
- Read the MRN and Encounter ID, or select the Open in … link, where your hospital has configured a deep link, to jump straight to the hospital’s chart viewer.
The patient’s name is never shown in the check-ins queue — identity is only ever visible inside your hospital’s own EHR, which keeps its own audit trail. Every reveal of these identifiers is itself recorded as an audited event, so your hospital can review exactly who looked up a patient’s EHR location and when.
