Per-User Language Preference

Any staff member can set their own display language from their Account page, independent of what the hospital as a whole is configured to show. This page covers where that’s set and how the language shown to anyone without a personal preference — including patients — is decided.

Set your own display language

  1. Open the Account page.
  2. Under Language, use the Display language field to choose Automatic (organization default), English (Canada), or Français (Canada).
  3. Select Save language.

Choosing Français (Canada) shows a note that the French interface is machine-translated and pending professional review. In fact, the translation was produced as a professional first pass and is undergoing staged human review, with clinical/patient-safety and consent/legal wording as the priority review tier.

How language is chosen without a personal preference

A signed-in staff member’s personal choice always wins over the hospital’s default. Anyone who hasn’t set a personal preference — including patients, who have no account page of their own — gets the hospital’s own configured default language. Only when the hospital hasn’t set one does the app use the language their browser is set to, falling back to English (Canada). Sign-in emails, which are sent before the app knows which hospital you belong to, use your saved preference, then your browser’s language, then English (Canada) — see Magic-Link Sign-In Email Delivery.
