Magic-Link Sign-In Email Delivery
Signing in is passwordless: entering an email address on the Login page sends you a one-time sign-in link by real email, delivered through AWS SES in production.
What you receive
The email you get is titled “Your sign-in link for hospitals.care” and contains a Sign in button linking straight back into NEPA, a fallback link you can copy and paste if the button doesn’t work, and a note that the link expires shortly for your security.
NEPA renders the email in the language you’re most likely to want: your own saved language preference if you’re a known user, otherwise the language your browser is set to, falling back to English (Canada) where neither is available or supported.
If the email doesn’t arrive
If NEPA can’t send the email, the Login page tells you to try again rather than showing the normal acknowledgment as if it had worked. To protect against someone probing for registered addresses, the Login page otherwise always shows the same “check your email” acknowledgment regardless of whether that address has an account — only an actual send failure produces a distinct message.
